Internet Usage

As of 2021, China had more than 979 million monthly internet users , more than any other country in the world. India was ranked second, as close to 846 million Indians accessed the internet via computers or mobile devices. The United States were ranked third with approximately 302 million monthly online users.

Globally, the number of Internet users increased from only 413 million in 2000 to over 3.4 billion in 2016. The one-billion barrier was crossed in 2005. Every day over the past five years, an average of 640,000 people went online for the first time.
